This series has the longest audiobooks in the list and is great value when paired with the two free audiobooks under the audible trial. The main sub-plots appear in the interludes and although brief, give us an idea that there is something mysterious going on and that everything is about to come to a head. Sanderson doesn’t waste time getting bogged down in unnecessary details or sub-plots, he put in the exact amount that was needed to make a good story. There is almost never a dull moment, I honestly can’t believe this audiobook is 45 hours long because it just went so quickly. The Way of Kings is everything you could want in an epic fantasy audiobook, great world building, amazing characters, magic and mystery. Sanderson has created an amazing world, so richly detailed that I can visualise it easily even in all it’s weirdness. This is the best story I’ve heard in ages.
